Fly ash is having various application other than brick making.
Flay ash is also used for Ready mix concrete works as well it is used for glazed floor and tiles. The fly ash business is not fully developed in India as it is developed around the globe. The fly ash is also used to make synthetic mineral wool, foam insulation products, ceramic fibers, Oil Well Cement, high resistance ceramic tiles, etc.
Most of the fly ash produced from coal based industries are left untreated which becomes matter of concern by industries as well as by pollution control board. The last option left is to make bricks and supply to domestic market.
Small part of raw fly ash is also exported to other countries. Other countries have proper treatment plants for handling bulk fly ash.
There are several technologies developed and successfully tested to substitute mineral wool from coal ash. Flyash fire brick technologies are commercially available. Beside this, cenospheres extracted from fly ash is successfully used as plastic fillers.
With development in infra sector, commercial development works, road projects the demand is increasing as fly ash helps in reducing the utilization of cement. The fly ash business can be developed once more and more investors and business personalities and organization view it as a profitable business.
